AC?

I have a 1979 13' Trillium completely restored. I now want to ad ac. I do NOT want a window unit or a roof top unit. I want either a self standing inside or one that set on the outside and pipes in. I know people do not want to drill more holes for the ducts...but you can take a single glass from a window and that will work.

My question is do the Comfort Right ac units work? Are their other brands? Thank you.

Do you mean the Climate Right brand? I've seen them referenced when I had a tear drop and understood that people seemed to like them but I don't have any personal experience with them.

People also use ductless mini-splits for these applications and I also heard good things about those but, again, I don't have any personal experience with them. Here's a thread from this forum which has some postings from 2014 to 2016.

We bought a Climate Right last month. I replaced a window screen with plywood and a layer of plastic. You can see the corner of the unit in the bottom right corner of the picture. Two hoses easily install from the unit into the duct holes.

Ours is the 5,000 btu unit. It has settings for cool, heat, fan, and de-humidifying. A remote control device operates the unit, but it will not work from inside the camper because the control panel is on the opposite side from the ducts. We bought the optional wired thermostat for an extra $40 and it mounts inside.

We are very pleased with this product. It kept us warm when it was in the low 30s in Colorado. After sunset in Oklahoma, it cooled us so much we had to turn it off. In 90 plus degrees at mid-day however, when we were parked in full sun, it didn't get cold inside. Still, it cooled off enough for an afternoon nap.

This unit is very heavy, 71 pounds, and moving it from the trunk of my car is a chore.
