battery service plug

I have a uhaul 13' scamp look-a-like and can not locate the service plug for recharging the battery. It is not the rv cable for camping I know. Please advise.

A UHaul is not a Scamp look alike. It is a Boler look alike.

The battery charges off the inverter which is powered off the plug that comes out of the door on the left side. When you plug in, the orange box in the right rear corner under the bench should hum. I am assuming you still have the original converter.

If you still have the original orange converter, open the door by taking off the nut at the top of the end door. Fold down the door and check the fuse on the left most position. There should be a jumper wire between the left most fuse and the one next to it.

Thanks much. It is dark now but I'll check it in the morning. The converter is indeed orange and it sits under the bed in back however I am in the dark a bit about which door on the left side you are referring to. A Boler huh?

It is the 6" x 8" door where you add water to the water tank or hook up to city water, located on the left side of the trailer . There is also about a 1 inch hole with a 110 volt cord that pulls out of this hole to plug in the camper. In the photo, just to the left of the word "Camper".

I have only seen one Burro, it was sitting in the "storage" area at a campground/ gold mine in North Carolina. Door was locked and the windows covered on the inside. We were told it was not for sale and that the owner shows up occasionally to pan for gold. The storage area looked more like a trailer boneyard, it was a funky place, but interesting, and real nice people running it. Is it true that Uhaul used modified Burro molds to make their trailers? But back to the original question, since I had removed our inoperative converter I installed a plug on the end of the cushion / storage area near the lower cabinet door and ran two wires to the battery, attached two wires to the male end of the plug from a battery charger, and that's how I would charge the battery. I also installed a battery disconnect switch. By installing the plug I could charge the battery without having to move cushions and open the battery box.

Tom correct me if I am wrong but what you are suggesting is that when the trailer is plugged in (using the RV cable as the OP calls it) should be charging the battery through the converter/inverter (as most trailers do) and that perhaps its just a fuse in the converter/inverter that is blown? or is it more complicated than that?

Carol, that is one possibility. When the converter is plugged in, an internal relay isolates the battery and connects it to a separate circuit powered off the transformer for the purpose of recharging it.

There is a separate fuse for each circuit (as seen in the photo that I attached). The left most fuse is for the charging circuit. If this fuse is blown the battery will not charge.
