not surprised

Really not surprised too much at this. I have seen some stuff in my Scamp but those jobs there aren't high paying and most anyone can be trained to do them but if no one checking this is what happens!

doesn't make sense does it?

Wow, it's eye-opening to see other trailers have sub-par installs.

As for my repair, my spot in line got bumped back. I'll post an update when the job is done.

That appears to be a junction box for the tow vehicle umbilical cord... I like that. I added one to my Scamp. Mine is in that same spot, but they are often on the tongue (outside) so maybe its for something else.

I think the electrician is going to reroute that box to the driver's side in anticipation of my dinette build where I'm going to put a porta-potty on that passenger side.

Our 13f Scamp

Gordon our 98 Scamp 13f has the battery on the tongue with a small wire actually I would almost call it lamp wire coming off the battery running to the inside! We run our 12v sparingly for lights. We have never had a problem and have never blown a fuse on the converter box!

I find it interesting they used such a small wire for all the power going to the distribution panel on the converter! I have felt the wire for heat and it never gets warm..

I do prefer the battery on the outside by the way...

Scamp is done.

It's at my sister-in-laws house. She arranged for her mobile tech guy to do a complete rewire of the Scamp.

Services done are:
1) Complete rewire of 12 volt system
2) New 45 watt converter, my old one was the original from 1992
3) New rewire of 7 pin connector on the tongue
4) New wire and fuses to the new 12 volt battery
5) LP gas system tested

I will leave the Scamp at her house until I can get there at the end of the month. She is going to help me convert the front couch area into a dinette.
