Converter!!! I'm probable over analyzing, Here is my problem.

Replaced the old broken converter with a "WFCO WFCO-8712P". Did all the prudent things, check the 12vdc not attached to the converter. Alls well on that side.
Installed the converter and with AC plugged in. (Without the battery attached) outputs at fuse was also good.
Here's where I lose it.
With Converter not plugged into AC! Battery attached, outputs dc voltage drops to 11 vdc and will not operate a light bulb.
Please tell my I am doing something wrong.
I think I need a wiring diagram on how the dc interacts with the converter.

NUMBER ONE. Make sure you're not connecting the battery up backwards. Typical trailer wiring the white wire is the negative, the black wire the positive.

There's a wiring diagram in documents section of this web site. I believe it's in the Scamp manual. No matter what trailer you have that diagram should be how your trailer is wired.

Hi Brad,

Scroll to the top of this page and find the "MORE" Tab on the far right.
Click on the MORE TAB.
Find and click on the DOCUMENT CENTER.
Find the "Category" you're interested in.
Then click on "DOWNLOAD" once you find the file you're looking for.

Brad, I would check to see that your battery is fully charged up, and have it then load tested to see if the battery is good/fair/poor.

Where'd you get the converter? If it was from Best, Randy is worth asking. After you check the battery.

Found it. As usual incomplete analysis. I started over from scratch, Checking voltages from battery through the converter, and found my problem. I had a bad fuse. The confusing thing was that there is feed back voltage @ 11.4 from the load side of the fuse.
Now every thing is operational.

I guess that I assumed that there would be zero voltage on the load side without fuse.
