Do any Propane A/C units also work as Heat Pump

Hello Everyone,
I am renovating an Amerigo F-16 flat roof trailer, really only a 14ft cabin.

I was hoping to install all propane units for an off grid camper but with land line 120v options of course.

1. Can anyone recommend an A/C unit that is also a heater preferably for the roof?
2. A small one to three cubic foot refrigerator and a one or two burner cook top?
I see some MFG's out there but want to get it right the first time as they will be built in so quality is my concern.
Thank you
Jonathan

There are DC powered rooftop AC units used on trucks; problem is they take 23 amps @ 24V! Useful if you have a LOT of solar panels.

Dometic is a good brand for propane powered RV fridges.

The Header says propane powered AC units.
No such thing?

At one time they made air conditioners that used propane as the refrigerant .
Haven’ t seen one in over 40 years
They do make rooftop and thru the wall A/Cs with built in electric heaters
When describing RV appliances quality is the last adjective I would use

A/Cs are real energy hogs and I imagine a propane powered unit would really go through propane pretty quickly. Even so, it could be an interesting option for short trips.
Were those early ones compressor or evaporative, do you know?

The ones I worked on were in older , larger lake homes built in the 20’s or 30’s
The had electrically powered compressors using propane for the refrigerant
Most were eventually converted to Freon
There were a few homes that used lake water with a heat pump to heat / cool their homes but that practice is no longer allowed because it affected marine vegetation and the fish.

Thanks Steve. Interesting and informative. Clearly inappropriate for RV use. I expect they would be even less efficient than current units.

It is possible to indirectly power A/C with propane. My Yamaha 2400 will run on propane and power my roof top A/C.

I am not a fan of using the A/C heat strip. A small cube heater sitting on the floor is a better choice.
