Electrical connection to tug vehicle

One of the rear red lights on the burro was on last night. The burro was disconnected from the tug vehicle but connected to land electric. It happened before completely free -- so I am assuming it was drawing from the battery somehow. Shaking the plug, it rattles so we purchased a new one and opened the old one. This is what we have:

Brown label has green wire

Black label has black wire

Green label has brown

Red label has yellow

White label is empty, but there is an unattached white exposed copper wire

Blue label has nothing attached

No spot is labelled yellow

We have two wires cut off (blue and red) - copper is unexposed and I assume those are for braking systems. We don't have that on our 13 foot burro.

Should we reconnect to the new plug in the same mismatched order or does someone out there have another suggestion?. Help!

Hard to tell from lable and wire colours. Check the pins on your tow vehicle comparing them to the standards published on etrailer and the like.

Then test the wire colours on the trailer end trying to match them by pin # to the tow vehicle.

I think Dave is right and it is probably this one: "White label is empty, but there is an unattached white exposed copper wire."

Thank you Dave and Roy. I appreciate the help. I'll give it a shot. (Oh my goodness. I had to correct "short" to "shot"). Hope that is not a precursor to something uncomfortably exciting!

If you are inclined to imbibe.
Make it a short shot before you start.
Keep the long shots until you are finished.

Abiding by your short shot rule, I did it, it seems to work. Yay!!
