Electrical question

Hi folks,
Any suggestions what should I buy for simply set up in new built based on Hymer chassis?
The set up will contain:
-outside /inside led’s
-maxx fan
-110v fridge
-4 power outlets
-battery or batteries
If it comes to battery what kind should I buy to survive 2 days without shore power using 110v fridge.
I’m in Ontario and not to crazy about solars.
Any input would be appriciated.

If you plan to include shore power connection capability, you could go this route:

- Progressive Dynamics PD4135 with LifePO4 battery charging feature

- 100 amp hour LifePO4 batteries are becoming fairly economical (less than $500).

- Running a 110v fridge for two days without shore power is NOT feasible unless you include a half dozen 100 amp hour LifePO4 batteries. Running an efficient 12vdc compressor fridge for two days without shore power IS feasible with two 100 amp hour LifePO4 batteries. An efficient 12vdc compressor fridge will use less than 60 amp hours of electricity per 24 hours.

- Using an inverter with 110v outlets for appliances will be questionable / very limited with the above setup. You will be on a tight power budget.

What's the issue with solar in Ontario?

This is a name brand battery that will easily get you several days off grid, provided you ditch the fridge. https://renogy.com/12v-100ah-lithium...y-w-bluetooth/ Like all batteries it will still have to be recharged sometime, somehow. If you aren't interested in running propane, maybe just get a fancy Yeti type cooler and add ice once a week.

Many, many overcast days not effective for solars charging, right?

Right.

Solar can be marginal in Michigan for two reasons. (1) There might be several continuous days of 100% cloud cover, particularly in the Fall. (2) Many campsites/campgrounds are heavily treed.

Any particular AC/DC fridge in your mind?
Bar fridge size would be enough.

Here are three examples of efficient 12vdc compressor fridges:

ICECO VL65 Dual Zone 12V Fridge (consumes 60-65 watts when running)

BougeRV CR55 59 Quart (55L) Portable Refrigerator/Freezer (consumes 90 watts when running)

Nova Kool R3100 87 liter (consumes 2.4 amps/29 watts when running)

I don't believe a dorm fridge would work because although they consume little power, they are designed to operate at room temperature, while RV temperatures can vary greatly.
