Hengs Fan Amp Draw?

Anyone know what the amp draw is on a standard cheap hengs 12vdc roof vent fan? Mine has the 6" diameter blade.

The Heng's (90037-C1) 12V Vent Motor listed on Amazon has a 0.85 amp rating. Its printed on the motor label.

Thanks! I have seen some that say 0.8 amps and some that say 1.6 amps, I can't read the decal on mine as the bracket is in the way.

A smart phone is handy for seeing around corners and the like. Stick it in and take a picture to review at your leisure.

my mechanic is constantly using his for a light or how about this put it up under a car letting the car down customer taking off!

If all else fails, use a multimeter to measure the amperage while running.

This one was rated @ 1.6 amp, I used it to replace the 3 amp fan in my stove top hood.

the amp draw is dependent on the motor and the fan blades used. A change of the blades will make a big difference on the amp draw. The good old mabuchi motors that are used are not very good and draw quite a heavy draw. I have switched over to computer fans for all my vent motors (even my fantastic fan). The amp draw in very low and much quieter operation. I built a housing for the stove vent with 2 smaller fans with a switch to select 1 or 2 fan plus a speed control. My old fantastic fan blade self destructed and I replaced the fan motor and blade with a Bitfenix 230mm fan that moves 160cfm and draws .3 amps(about $20). The cost of these fans are much lower than the cost of replacement motors from a rv shop. Being a computer tech, I have a large selection of fans to choose from from dead power supplies and cases.
