I985 9.5' Big foot camper

Hi

Nice to be on the forum.

I have an electrical issue with my camper. It has been sitting for a few years under cover and I am getting it going again. The lights worked last time I used it, but now no lights at all are working. Bulbs are good. Is there a wiring diagram available for these campers? Also, is there a fuse/ circuit breaker for the trailer wiring that may be blown that breaks the entire wiring circuit? Seems strange that all lights are not working.

Also, does anyone know the weight of this camper? It has no plate with the weight listed. Manufactuer date is Jan 18,1985. Model C-95Del. It has the 3 piece molded bathroom with shower and a hot water heater, 4 burner stove with oven, range hood, fridge, fiurnace, water tank. etc. Here is a picture of the details sheet on one of the camper cabinet doors.

Any help, would be appreciated.

Rob, You may not get many replies. There is a stated bias for towable molded fibreglass on this sight.

I think the best way to get a weight on your camper is to weigh your truck at a truck scale with the camper on, then weigh the truck with it off. The difference is the camper.

As for actual electrical details, I got nothing.

These campers are pretty simple, I'm sure we can figure out your issues.

In your first picture there is a panel right in front of the water tank, I think that may be your power converter.

If your camper is plugged into shore power, all 12 V power to the camper will come through the converter. There should be a pop open door on the left side, inside will be breakers for the 110v power and fuses for the 12v power.

Make sure the 110v breaker is not tripped then check the fuses with a volt meter or test lamp.

There are many very qualified electrical folks on here. With a few pictures I'm sure we will be able to get your lights on again.

Electrical Issues

I guess I didnt describe my electrical problem well. All the interior lights are working on 12V and 110V, it's the exterior signal, brake and running lights that are not working at all. I tested the bulbs, and removed the 4 pin connector and have started testing the circuits there. It seems strange that not even one exterior light is working. I am thinking a bad ground maybe, but where.......?

if you plug your 4 pin connector into another truck do they? Sounds like your problem is with your Truck

Where your 4 wire connector enters the camper, look inside the cabinets and see if there is a connector center, or a batch of wire nuts or crimps.

With a long jumper wire and an ohm meter start the task of checking the ground wire to the 4 pin connector, and all of the other wires.
Then proceed to a tail lamp and check ground back to the 4 pin, and the other wires as well.

Being a fiberglass hull there should be a separate ground wire to each outside light.
Being stored for a bit they have probably oxidized.

Many times you can look into the under cabinet areas and see the wiring and follow it around the camper

Thanks Phil.

I have disconnected the 4 pin plug and I am testing the lights using an auxilary battery and wires leads.

Thanks. I will start the process. I have a feeling it might be a bad ground at the tail light assembly.
