Question Lithium battery

Should I keep my 2019 Casita with a lithium battery plugged up while it is stored?
thanks,
Ralph

I don't think you need a float charge on lithiums, what does the manufacturer of your battery say about this? But you will need to keep up with any parasitic loads, like the CO/propane detector, tank monitors, etc. Things you cannot shut off unless you disconnect the battery, when stored.

The recommendation from Battleborn is to let the battery drop to 80%, then store without a load or float. Mine dropped around .1V during a month of storage.

Battery

I bought the camper second hand. The manual doesn't cover much. In winter I go out and fool around with it some and having it hooked up is handy, however it is easy to hook up. I am installing a battery shutoff switch and I will be unhooking the cord and the battery this coming winter.

If you guys disagree with this procedure let me know.

Thanks for your help, Ralph

While I doubt it will be a problem in West Virginia, if the outside temperature goes below -20°F, Battleborn recommends bringing the battery inside.

Li-ion battery

If it is a Li-ion battery, then ideally you would want to store it at around 50 to 65% charge. Anywhere between 30 and 80% is fine. Keeping it at 100% is very bad; letting it discharge to zero is worse.

I watched an interview with the CEO of Battleborn who says there is no issues with battery degradation with keeping their battery 100% charged.

I use a CTek lithium smart charger to keep my lithium batteries charged up and conditioned.

Very thorough interview with the Battleborn CEO about Battleborn lithium batteries and their specs.
