Solar Mounting Gasket

Where the Solar Panel mounts in the track there is what looks like a rubber seal. Where would I get this part? My camper is an 86 U Haul and the rubber has rotted and has to be replaced before I can remount it on the roof.

Take a picture. There may be a stock off the shelf solution that someone knows about. Not too likely that U-haul still carries it LOL!

Too bad I threw mine away, I think it was OK. Can you use a piece of tire tube. Depending on the thickness, you could use a bicycle tube for a thin piece, car tube for thicker, truck or tractor tube for thicker yet. I keep stuff like that around, never know what you might need a piece of rubber for, pieces of truck mudflap too come in handy.

The rubber on mine was shot, so I just used two layers of electrical tape. The only function of the "gasket" is to keep the glass out of direct contact with the metal, which can cause a stress concentration and breakage.

I didn't leave it like this for long, as I installed a larger panel.
