Dometic AC

This is my first post and I don't even know if I'm in the right category. I took the cover of my Dometic air conditioner off to do some work on my ceiling. I have a broken part. Not sure what it is or where to find one. There are two knobs to control the unit. Both have a part that fits between the actual knob and the half circle that turns it to a new position. White, plastic, with a screw for tightening. Anyone? Am I sounding like a crazy woman?

Also, when I put the cover back on, I couldn't get the knob covers aligned with the part that I mentioned above so when I turn the knobs, nothing happens.

Not to be negative but both your picture and your explanation aren't very good. How about a photo from farther back and show the knobs and cover and where they go.

Since that cover is off look around inside and find the model and serial #. Then put that into a browser and do a search. Just saying Dometic doesn't help. There are a lot of different Dometics.
