Grey tank connection leak, 17ft Casita SD 2014

I have developed a dripping leak right at the connection of the POV pipe to the grey water holding tank. There are no cracks in the tank nor pipe. How does one repair this? It seems the sealant at the connection has failed. I wanted to attach a pic I took with my iPhone but I can’t figure how to transfer one I took and attach it to this post. Doesn’t appear simply copying and pasting an image works here. Sorry!

Thanks Kevin

OK, I'm not on-board with what you are referring to as a POV pipe? Never heard of it. Perhaps a little more of a description would help. Are you sure you aren't referring to the ABS black plastic drain piping?

Maybe he meant Drain and vent?

The gray tank drain pipe is held in place / sealed with sealant
Read the instructions from LHC about the gray tank fast drain
It will show you how to remove and reseal the pioe.

Hi, I'm new here. What does "LHC" mean?
I have a similar issue and would love a bit of help in finding a guide to a fix.
Thanks!

LHC, aka, Little House Customs, are basically a Casita-oriented business, but they have also done work on several other brands during their time as a shop. Larry and Debbie Gamble ran LHC for many years and have done thousands of trailer mods and upgrades until Larry finally retired, (and a well-deserved retirement.) Although the "garage shop" has closed when Larry retired, he has turned over the on-line store to the kids, who are doing well. Larry still keeps his hand in some things, but for the most part, the kids run the on-line store now. Still great service when you order anything.

Thanks so much for the info!

Seems like my issue might be a crack or some other fault to the tank, somewhere on the top surface. I've run water through all the drains, and checked seals around both of the pipes (shower/sink combo is one, galley sink another) going into the tank and there seems to be no leaks from either. Both pipes connect to the sides of the tank.

But if it's on an incline towards the tongue, and the grey tank is mostly full, a little water starts dripping out from on top of the tank. Kinda wish it was just a seal issue, bc a leak from on top of the tank and the minimal clearance to get any kind of sightline on that surface means I have to pull the whole thing. Fun times!

Sight unseen, and this is only some speculation, but one thing that has a well documented history on these Casitas is that the grey tank and the drain line from the galley sink have been known to pull out or separate, or at least cause the caulking to separate where it enters the top of the grey water holding tank, particularly, most notable when it's about full. That would be the first thing I would check anyway. I redid my galley sink drain line when I installed my 9" deep galley sink, (to replace the "bird bath" sink the trailer came with.) I also added a HepvO drain bladder to replace the "P" trap under the sink. I also routed the drain line over to the side, near the fridge, and was able to install a usable shelf under the sink, which is handy for those long rolls of things like Saran Wrap, Aluminum Foil, Parchment Paper, Wax Paper, etc. that really never fit well anywhere else. Nice deep shelf. And for reference purposes, it is mounted at the level of the top of the wheel well.

Just as a point of clarification, no offense. But ABS drain piping, (and the easiest way to remember it is using the acronym, (All Black Stuff,) as for plastic drain piping, but of course, the drain lines inside the trailer are white PVC. That said, Casita uses PVC, (white,) plastic drain lines inside the trailer, which is not to be confused with ABS. The outflow lines for dumping the tanks is the black ABS piping. Hope that clarifies it somewhat.

Thanks for the pointers. I'll check those spots again.

I think in our Casita (2012 17' Liberty Deluxe, we're the second owners) that some of those mods were either already done or maybe it came pre-made with some of the things you mentioned - Both the pipes leading into the grey tank come in on the sides, and it seems like ours already has a (flexy, squishy grey) rubber P-trap, not a rigid PVC one.

But none of that counts right now, since I didn't check all those areas as close as you recommend. On to that step, and thanks again for the pointers!
