Calgon - 1 cup + 1 gal water?
Is that all?? no deoderizer with that mix? How long does your tank stay non stinky with that solution? I am assuming you use this mix in a clean tank before using it daily for a few days. With use of the holding tank by say even 2 people how long will this mix stay "fresh"?
Will this get rid of poop and pee smells in the holding tank?
By the way I did find some ODORLOS at Camping world today. Calgon is cheap though

I have to perfect answer to controlling black water holding tank odor. No black water holding tank. Use the facilities at the campground.

Yes that is all........... Water will be added with usage! As far as how long, basically until you dump, but if odors arise. Just add another cup mixed in water. It's not rocket science, just know it works!

No chemical deodorizers are needed with the calgon. Just try it, you have nothing to loose but a couple bucks if you don't like the way it works. Personally I have used this method for years and prefer it over any other rv holding tank deodorizing application I have ever used.

Ewwww, ick! Thanks but no thanks! The day a campground bathroom can be half as clean as I keep my bathroom than i might think about it. Might being the key word. Since that isn't gonna happen I will continue to use my bathroom and since I use calgon I don't have odor problems, nor black tank issues. I have found the perfect answer, it works for me. Calgon!

Question: Concerning both tanks!

Starting with empty tanks.

So we get to the campground and pour in our favorite odor and/or decomposing additive.

We add a gallon of water. The water washes the additive into the drain pipes under the camper.

Then we go about camping and using the sinks and toilet. "Stuff" lands in the bottom of the tanks and lays there, because the additive and water are sitting in the drain pipes. . Stuff stinks!

Eventually enough liquids are added to cover the bottom of the tanks, but nothing has really stired up the additive/water mix in the drain. So how much of the additive will migrate to where it is needed, to where the stuff is ?

Wouldn't it be better to first put enough water into the tank to fill the drains, before pouring in the additive/water mix? How much liquid does a 3"-4" pipe hold per foot or inch"?

Thanks,
Kip
