Hot Water Replacement

My Suburban 6 gal. water just died in my 20 year old Casita. It was a manual lite gas pilot model. Does anyone know of the replacement model? I understand that lighting with a match is long gone and any replacement unit will have electronic starting. Question, would the electrical connection be difficult to do? I spoke in person to the service manager of a local large RV dealer and repair in Houston and it would be about $850.00 job....he was very little help otherwise.

If you are installing the gas only version (no 120V AC) all you need to do is get a 12V connection to the water heater. Low draw - all it does is power the igniter electronics. You will also need to wire a connection to a control panel. There are different models, some which also include displays for the tanks & battery. The basic switch is here.
