Need ideas replacing single faucet in Scamp!!

Hi,
I have a 2012 13 foot Scamp. Currently, I have a single faucet that came with it. However, the spout is so close to the edge of the sink, I makes it very very difficult to use! I would like to replace it with another single faucet with a longer spout. (Without drilling holes, etc)...
Do any Scamp owners out there have any ideas? I'm SURE if you have a Scamp with a single faucet, you can TOTALLY relate!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for any help!!!

Hi Steph, to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here

The faucet you want to replace.... is it an On Demand spout (pump) ... or are you wanting to replace an "Always-hooked-up-to-city-water" faucet?

Since the pump style is mentioned above, I'll throw out a question I have. Just recently camped for the first time and the pump faucet is so far back it dribbles all over the counter and makes a big leaky mess. Has anyone had that issue and have a fix for it?

We bought a new faucet like the one on the right for our Scamp -- and got it from West Marine. It's a good replacement.

I found some clear plastic tubing at a hardware store. The tubing has a nice tight friction fit over the faucet tube. A piece about 5/8" long solves the problem.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I knew there was a simple solution out there. When we camped recently I had to pump everything into a little pot first instead of into the sink when washing dishes, etc. I'd thought about some shrink wrap extending over the end of the faucet, but like the idea of the clear plastic tubing better. Off to Home Despot (as we call it).

Thanks Joy!!!! Now that I got a spare tire, a city water faucet was next on the list. I especially like that the spout tilts. Love this forum.

Thank you everyone!!!

Donna - thank you for the welcome, and it is the city water faucet hook up that I am referring to.

Joy - thank you for the picture and the tip. It looks perfect. I will look at West Marine website in a few minutes. One question though, is it easy to install or should I have it professionally installed? ( I am NOT handy at all) HA HA

I've had the same problem with water getting everywhere.
I've looked for a replacement "spout" but to no avail. Wife
found this at Walmart. We use this all the time in the house
to just direct the flow. So far it's a good alternative and
much cheaper than replacing the whole faucet.

That seems easy enough. What should I look for specifically in WalMart?

I'm sure you can get it anywhere.......we just happened to be in a Walmart.

EDIT: I misread your post.........LOL
Just go to the plumbing and find the item like the picture.

And to the Forum.

Byron, that plastic tubing worked like a charm. No more water all over the counter now and dripping everywhere. Thanks for that easy fix for a big problem.

The way I've done it on my other trailers (will do the same on my Burro) is go to Lowes and get a regular bathroom faucet . Run city water to one handle and 'on board' water to the other. I also installed a12v water pump in line with the 'on board' water. Works quite well.

(incase you want to upgrade your system)

Gage, I PURPOSELY changed out the bathroom faucet that was original to my trailer for a hi-rise. The bathroom faucet was too low for my needs. YMMV http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...tml#post260537
