Propane fitting end cap

HiClick image for larger version

Name:	<a title=propane.jpg Views: 17 Size: 58.8 KB ID: 82129" style="margin: 2px" />

I disconnected by old gravity heater and would like to close/cap off the valve. I can't seem to find for the life of me the correct size.

I measured the inside dia.and it come to 19/32

I've tried both a 3/8 and a 1/2 and either its too big or too small. Do they make a 19/32?

Send a message via Yahoo to Darwin Maring
Tahe the picture and the facts to a furnace repairman and I bet they have just what you need.

The photo is showing a flare fitting. The seal is made when the flare in the copper tube is compressed into the new fitting. Just matching threads will not solve your problem. A good propane supplier can help. Can you follow the tube to another connection and seal it with a plug ?

There are various fittings available to easily plug that, Flare one end, pipe thread other. Also there is a cap for flare fittings. Just be sure to check for leaks when you're done with soapy water. I can take a photo of the fittings if you need but I'll have to dump a couple cans and dig through the contents

Got the fitting from a local propane place. All good. Feel safe now. I think it had a small leak when it was originally hooked up to the gravity furnace which is no longer in use so decided to pull it out and cap it.

I tested the connection with soap and water and no bubbles.
