Scamp didn't do a good job here

I noticed my 2004 5th wheel was leaking underneath at the shower drain trap last fall when winterizing the camper. No biggy, dripping on the garage floor and you would never noticed it at the campgrounds and never use the shower drain anyway, but I always fix things when there is a problem. Ordered some stuff this week from scamp before campin season and a new trap also for 6 bucks. Went to put it in today and they never routed out the floor underneath to accept the trap as the full floor thickness did not allow the inside part of the drain to screw into the trap! There was no threads protruding past the floor thickness. So they just siliconed the trap to the underside of the wood floor! I got the dremel router out and routed the opening underneath to allow the drain to go up into the floor. There are actually 3 stops on the trap for this to set properly against the floor bottom. Either a new guy that day or Friday maybe.

John, was the wood around the area affected? I think I may have the same problem on my 13' Scamp.

I found out about quality when the Wood Cabinet Doors in the 5r came unglued and the Torsion axle was ripping away from the frame.

Drain trap..........

Never thought of taken a pic....just fixed it. I wished I would of. And to answer another question the floor is not rotted, but was damp as I routed it out. Like I said that really never got much use with us, we never used the
shower (campgrounds have them) or the little bathroom sink rarely. I bought the camper from the original owner this time last year so I can't say how much the sump got used prior.

I found out about quality when my Scamp13D still looks and functions to near perfection after ten years, many hundreds of nights use and many thousands of miles towed.
