We bought a 2007 16' Scamp Layout 6 today! We purchased from the 2nd owners who bought it a year ago from a reseller but never used it.
All systems started up fine. I didn't actually get to see them run the shower (I was toddler wrangling at the time) but my husband said it looked like there was some water sitting in the drain of the shower. I noticed there was some water leaking in the closet (it seemed to be weeping from a hose fitting) but there was no rot or water damage to indicate a long term issue. Similarly, underneath the trailer you could feel water coming around the hole cut into the floor where the black tank pipe exits but the wood felt very solid and had no stains or mold. Our guess is either these systems were never used or haven't been used in a while and maybe some seals dried out because the trailer is 18 years old. We knocked some $$$ off the price anticipating fixes but obviously hope these are minor and that there aren't major problems.
Anyway, can anyone provide insight? What should we do to troubleshoot? Where do we start? TIA!
Kari, this coming Thursday there is a rally at the Chocurua Camping Village in Tamworth, NH. If you can make it, there will be plenty of people that could help or advise. Don and Karin.

We are not able to attend Spring Fling unfortunately. It would be a great opportunity to get some experienced eyes on our camper though!
Husband tighten the blue and red hose fittings and that appears to have stopped weeping on the shower hoses in the closet. We have not tried turning the shower on again yet so I don't know how the fittings will perform under pressure.
We found the shower drain switch in the shower and that drained the water out of the shower drain/basin. We are hoping that will dry up the area around the hole directly under the toilet, but not sure if that is a separate issue.
Kari;
I would suggest removing the drain cover in the shower and carefully fishing out any and all debris from there. There is a tendency for all sorts of 'stuff' collecting in there, blocking drainage and sitting there, seeping into areas around the fittings.
Also, as you found, tightening any fittings (Not too much) is a good idea.
Good luck!

We will probably do that! Good news is once we drained the shower drain via the switch (that we didn't realize was there and the sellers didn't know about due to never using it) the wet area underneath the toilet seemed to dry up! So I hoping maybe just some water from the shower splashed up and that means the "fix" is as simple as siliconing the area where the black tank sits on the floor or installing a shower curtain that blocks the toilet when showering or something like that.
Be sure to check under the front of the Scamp to clean out the shower filter screen. It’s amazing how quickly it fills with debris and keeps the shower from draining properly!
Happy Scamping!

Now that you’ve found and used the drain switch, just remember to put several cups of RV antifreeze in the drain and run that pump when you winterize your trailer! Otherwise the pump will freeze with water in it, and you get to buy a new pump (as I learned the hard way).
