scamp sink waste water

Just bought a 2000 scamp. The sink drains outside to a fitting designed to take a hose. Question - what do people use to catch the water, bucket, jug or one of those strange wheeled tanks I've seen? I'm a tenter so this is new

The answer is yes, all those things have been used. Some campgrounds do limit the type of container, i.e., no open buckets because of critters and odors. Do you have a gray tank or black tank, or just the drain to waste container?

just a drain. Plus a jug I use for waste water when I'm tent camping.

You already have the right idea. Now, should you ever get to camp at a full hookup site, you can run your waste directly into the campground sewer connection, just like the big users using an adapter like this. Drain Adapter for Gray Water, Bulk - Valterra.com | Valterra.com

HOWEVER, if you have a direct drain from the sink, horrible, noxious odors from the sewer can come into your camper through the hose because there is no liquid/P trap to stop them. I am not sure how to stop that from happening. Further investigation is in order.

Portable 6 Gallon RV Waste Gray Black Sewer Waste Water Tank Camper Tote Transpo | eBay

I use one like this for my Scamp it fits under the rear table with the table down when traveling so it is just the right size and not too heavy to carry if you want to dump in the outhouse or dump station.

Sink Drain

I use a 5 gallon bucket and have a lid when needed. Purchased it at a local hardware storm for $4 with the lid. To keep the water less inviting, we wipe off the plates of food before washing then typically dump in the fire pit.

We use a 3 gallon square "tank" with handle, under our sink with a drain line running straight down into it. It keeps it contained in the camper, which we find is often required where we camp, and it's easy to take out and empty.

Similar to this. Where the spout is, is where we run the drain line into.

sink water

We have clear vinyl hose attached to the drain sink outlet which runs under the camper. I guess we use very little sink water as we do dishes in black tubs outside. It just runs on the ground, nothing nasty.

On our VW poptops we used a collapsible 5 gal water jug. Connected a short piece of garden hose to the drain and slid the nozzle of the jug into bare end of hose. The valve made jug easy to close for transport. You can buy black collapsable sold for grey water collection.
