toilet ball valve misallignment

Our 2006 16' Scamp has a Dometic toilet. When stepping down on the flush lever the hole in the ball valve only meets the toilet bowl hole part way. Dometic troubleshooting says I need an adapter to lift the toilet allowing the lever to press down further so the entire hole in the ball valve matches the bowl outlet. Can I just adjust the lever? If an adapter is needed does Scamp really send these units out of their shop not working properly? Any chance Scamp would provide the adapter that was required in the first place?

You may already have this manual. Pop off the leaver cover and see why it won't depress the valve fully.

spring cartridge needed

I contacted Dometic. The tech said it sounds like I need a new spring cartridge $26. (I'm guessing this is part of the flush valve). The metal shaft rounds out the female end in the plastic pedal. A repair kit is more costly ($56) but includes a new flush ball, a better brass valve, and a spring cartridge. Selecting the link to the manual came up empty. Thanks for the help. tom
