toilet trim part

My Scamp toilet (it may be a Sealand 711) has a cover on it to hide all the plumbing parts. That cover is open and falling off every time I stop. Is there a way to keep it on other that tape around the toilet? I see no clips or latches. Are they broken / missing?

Thanks

I seem to remember a little piece of nylon string (fishline) on one side of the trim - and a small hole on the other side of the trim collar. I threaded the nylon string through the hole and that, alone, stopped the trim collar from opening while traveling.

That's not a real specific answer but it should get you started on the "fix".

I just took a picture of my 2017 Scamp toilet cover. There is a small flexible piece of clear plastic that is stretched between two small ears on the cover. It is probably 1/2" x 2". See picture. It does not show up on the parts list that I looked at. The other side of the cover uses the cover material as a living hinge.

Thanks to both of you.

Thanks to both of you. Mine had the clear piece of stretchy plastic with two holes. I could not get it re-hooked so I used a small Harbor Freight “O” ring and it looks like it will hold.

Any port in a storm! Glad you came up with a "fix". I know how annoying it can be to find that collar open while traveling.

I had the same problem with the strecthy plastic, it didn't seem to have enough distance between the holes to reattach. So I used a hot nail to melt a new hole and then was able to use it.

I will remember the O-ring idea in case I need it.
