Bag awning

Looking for a small bag awning something that can be mounted amp; left on trailer while traveling

Not sure exactly the length but my trailer cabin is only 10 long so anything from 8 to 10 wide...and something that extends out approx the same.... I m doing a modification to a small trailer

Thanks in advance

Marti's Vintage Trailer Awnings

I have one made by her, and it is top notch. She will also custom make it to any size and from any pattern/colors you like. Mostly free slide-in awnings, but I like them because they don't take up any space and weigh almost nothing for storage.

Bag awning

Bag awnings are designed to hang on a vertical sidewall. When mounted on a curved surface they sometimes have a tendency to collect water inside when closed. It depends on the shape of your trailer. With the more rounded styles, you may find it gets wet inside when towing in the rain and you may need to remove it for long-term storage.

Shademaker is the most common brand, owned by Dometic if Iím not mistaken.

Marti makes rope and pole awnings, which have to be removed for towing.

Fiamma makes case awnings. Do they also make bag awnings?

We had a Shademaker bag awning on our Uhaul CT13. It did get water in the bag if left on the trailer. I don't know if it had much to do with the curve of the trailer, maybe the stitching didn't seal good. Also if left on the trailer while traveling the awning would flip upside down. I would only put the awning on the trailer when using it in a campsite. Kind of defeated the idea of it. I know a Scamp 13 owner that had the same problems. Also if you get the 8 foot awning it is only available with the cheap twist lock poles. Above 8 foot length the good poles and rafters are available. It was a OK awning, but not the best.
