1985 Scamp 16' Twin Bed custom - Florida

1985 Scamp 16' rebuilt in 2015 with rebuilt frame, new FlexiRide axle, 14" tires and 10" self adjusting brakes and EZ Lube hubs.

The frame was reinforced and extended about 18" to give room for the condenser unit in the front and also extended to the sides to support the fiberglass shell much more securely than the original Scamp frame. The fron of the frame was rebuilt with heavy gauge steel tubing and a full crossmember across to control the twisting that breaks the frames on the stock units.

This trailer was laid out with two twin beds in the read North / South with a night stand / dinette table between.

Full wet bath in the front / center for more headroom with linen closet to the driver's side.

Pantry and closet to the street side in front of the entry door.

There is a Danfoss compressor refrigerator and a Sharp convection microwave installed as well. There is no stove or gas cooktop as my wife did not want the gas inside the cabin area. We usually camp with full hookups and use an electric skillet, microwave, or induction cooker.

The electrical system has a pretty new Chins LiFePO4 100 Ah battery and Progressive Dynamics PD4045 electrical distribution / charger system. There are three 100 watt solar panels on the roof.

The trailer is equipped with electric hose reels for the potable water hookup and the gray/black tank emptying. The black tank hose reel discharge is set up with a macerating pump and valves to select gray / black as well as the normal 3" connections. The gray and black tanks are interconnected so that there is only one connection required to drain both or either tank.

There is a 12' awning installed at the Scamp factory during one of our trips to Yellowstone ; Glacier National park etc.

Heat and air conditioning is with a mini split heat pump that has worked well for us and been trouble free with trips from coast to coast and from Key West to Canada.

I have many pictures and also there are pictures of the rebuild posted here on Fiberglass RVs .

FrankinScamp has been passed to a new owner.
We will miss him, but remember fondly all of the trips and adventures.
All the best Frank!
