2018 rebuild

These lights replaced the reflectors originally screwed in to the leading edge of the shell.

Frame repair complete. The weak spots at the leading edge of the shell have been repaired and reinforced with a complete wrap of additional metal....
Frame was sandblasted, primed and coated with industrial paint typically used for water towers.
Original frame, partially repaired, shows just how light (and thereby flimsy) the original was. We've beefed her up for another 36 years on the road.

This is the common weak point among Compact Jrs. You can find it along the frame, not far from the leading edge (tongue end) of the shell.
