I finally got around to installing the new axle on the camper. I double checked the wheels and found that if you can locate a set of custom Unilug wheels that would fit a Mustang 2 from the 80's there are only 2 things that would need to be done. Install 1/2" studs in the hubs that are long enough to provide several full turns of the nut b-4 the wheel clamps tight. (at least 6 turns) Secondly the wheel needs to be located as a hub centric install. It is possible to make a centering ring to do this. I would be willing to mail you a sketch of my design if you wanted to copy it but it would need to be custom measured and machined by someone near you. I live in Wisconsin and would be willing if I am close enough.
