Hello all,
I'm the proud new owner of a 19' Bonair oxygen. I would like to install a gas furnace for those chilly fall/spring nights. However, I've been told it will be difficult due to the lack of flat wall space for the vent.
Looking for options,
Josh

We use a little electric ceramic micro-furnace
Works well
There is a hose under our bench by door and I think a mark on the fiberglas where you can punch out an opening. I called to an Alberta Dea;er who had sold a number of trailers and had installed something like a top of a butane heater to the hose and sat it on the floor. I didn't like the sound of that -hence the $40-50 heater. It was June in Michigan - got the last one to be had then - had to go to camping world to find one. Any hardware store we found had sold their's off in the winter. We weren't picky- just freezing cold. It had started to wartm up again by the time we found a heater !

RV water heaters are generally designed to mount in a flat exterior wall, and the solution is mould a surrounding adapter (or transition piece) in fiberglass, which is visible in photos of trailers such as my Boler 1700 (see the same setup on a different variation of B1700 in an Album photo). With the water heater, it's a large square heater door, so the whole thing is quite a wart on the curve of the trailer, but for a typical furnace vent it could be quite small and blend in much better.
