Hello! Everyone. I'm new to this site and to camping. I am retired and wish to see good old Manitoba this summer, and enjoy a new adventure at the same time.
I am looking for some advice from you experienced campers.
We own a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan, V6 3.8 engine. We would like some advice as to what size of a trailer would be best suited for our vehicle. We are looking at a 1978 Biggar in mint condition and reasonably priced. There are only the two of us and the Biggar is beautiful and fully equiped.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I split your post off into it's own topic. I think it'll get a lot more notice.
The Biggar is a really cool trailer. It would be worth buying the trailer and having to get another tow if yours won't do it!
Check your owner's manual. You need three numbers. The gross vehicle weight rating, the gross combined vehicle weight rating, and the maximum hitch weight. If your Biggar falls under all of those for your Dodge, then you're good to go. If any of them are outside the parameters of the van, you're better off looking for a new tow rig.
That will at least get you started!
:welcome2: Joe . Oooooh a Biggar! We've only had a couple of member with that brand and I've always found them to be interesting. If/when you buy it, I sure hope you'll post pictures. Sorry, can't help with the tug question, just wanted to pop in and tell you we're glad you're here
