2015, May 15-17: Maryhill in May
That time again --
In case anyone wants to join us, we just made reservations at Maryhill State Park for the weekend before Memorial Day 2015 - May 15-17. This will be the sixth year we've visited this area on this weekend - we've had small 'Not Organized' gatherings and a lot of fun in the area. There are pictures from previous years in the links below our signature line. Norma, the Girls and I will be in site 50 from Friday 5/15 to Sunday 5/17 (we will get there earlier, but the 15th is the first day they'll reserve, so who knows what site we'll be in then). Please join us if you can! Maryhill SP information |
Paul & Norma,
We are looking forward to year #6 and will be in space #49. Chuck loves celebrating his birthday there each year. Chuck, Deb & Shelby |
#37. I decided horrendous rates aside, if driving that far I want to be on the river.
|
I have site #2 again.

Rats. Looks like they are booked up? This is a perfect weekend for a Canuck to come down since it's our May Long Weekend. Next time, I guess!

LKG & Chuck and Vicki are in - cool! Sorry you had to drop out Bobbie |
Interesting. We just returned from a 10,881.6 mile, 6 week tour of the west. Driving from Glacier National to Crater Lake we hit a big deer at 65 mph just outside Maryhill near Goldendale. No one was hurt and the trailer was not damaged but the truck was a mess and the deer was worse. Several complete strangers soon came to our rescue and one kind gentleman towed all 5 of us and our Scamp to Peach Beach in Maryhill (adjacent to the state park). He even stopped on route to show us the sights! We spent a week on the Columbia seeing everything the area offered while waiting for the repair work to be completed. Maryhill provided many memories for my family. I can't say enough about the kind and generous people in the Washington/Oregon area. We had a great time. Enjoy the peaches and the wine and say hello to the campground hosts for us!

OMG Josh, you had a 'el of a memory in my "neighborhood.." Okay, Maryhill/Goldendale is about 2 hours east of me... but STILL!
Glad to hear everything worked out and no one was hurt. :yep Fiberglass can be fixed, vehicles can be repaired.... Isn't the Columbia Gorge beautiful... even if you were on the far EAST of the gorge? Did you go to "Stonehenge" the Maryhill winery and the Maryhill Museum... did you see the Rodan sculpture? Safe travels, always... and watch out for those deer :wink |
