1980s cadet camper renovation!!!
I'm a total newbee at renovations to campers and was given this cadet for free!!! I have started the reno and ripped all the fabric off the walls and took a wire handbrush to the leftover foam and glue. my thought process on how to proceed for the walls is using a construction adhesive to glue some 1"x1" studs to the walls and spray glue some foil insulation to the walls then put some kind of wall board up... that's where i'm stumped i would like a very lightweight board that i could possibly use a strong staple and just staple onto the studs... any tips or advice would be appreciated.
Photo attached of demo so far... i will be removing everything before doing the walls... right down to the floor which i will replace aswel.
For the walls, and keeping with the 80's theme, I would select some 1/8" - 3/16" real wood paneling. You could install it over the insulation with a brad gun. You could then stain or leave natural the real wood and seal/varnish/verathane the wood. An addition of a wax coating would preserve the wood almost forever. It could make an awesome interior.:)
