We purchased our Boler Bear from it's original owner Edmund Gretzky some 5 years ago. And yes, that would be Wayne Gretzky's Uncle. Oh and Yes, Wayne did sleep in the boler.
We've travelled a fair bit in our little Egg: Haliburton Forest is our Fav but we've been to: Michigan, West Virginia, South Carolina (Hunting Island), Myrtle Beach, across the States to Arizona: Sedona, Grand Canyon for a week, and Santa Fe in New Mexico.
We have tried to stay true to the original condition of the interior. We have new upholstery, new curtains, and new cupboard doors everywhere. The only major change was, we cut the openings in the upper cupboards wider to allow for easier storage, and we added a center upper cupboard door above the sink.
The exterior of Boler Bear is like glass now. We used a 3 step system where we took off the oxydization, then polished and waxed with a marine product. Most people think it's a new trailer when they see it.
The only customizing that we did was widening the upper cupboard door openings and of course the new upholstery and curtains.
We also had a stone guard spayed on the front.
Other than that, we wanted to stay true to it's original state. Isn't that why we love these babies.
We removed the Boler from it's frame and we sand blasted the frame. Mike blasted, I sifted the sand. Big job but well worth it.
We then had it coated with the truck liner material. It will now last forever.
