Renovations
We have started the renovation process. We noticed once we changed out the interior light to LED that the light over the dinette table had water inside. The previous owner had changed out the original light but used fasteners that were too long and poked a hole in the fiberglass roof. The fasteners for the new lights were not as long, sooo it leaks. We pulled the ceiling down, repaired the fiberglass.
We decided to reinforce the ceiling with rafters and installing an extra layer of sm foam in the ceiling. So 2 inches of foam in the ceiling. We have the front section ready for door skin ceiling. We have to remove the panelling around the front windows as there was rot. We decided to take the windows out one at a time to replace the rubber gasket seals the silicone that holds the glass and new butyl. We contacted Sunview Industries for replacement gasket and silicone. The gasket is not identical, but it works. They can also supply the slide for the side windows that open.
We are tackling the front right side window. Wow. The glass was not silicone to the window frame. In order to get the glass out of the frame so it could be cleaned, the T frame in the middle has to be removed. We drilled out the pop rivets in the T frame which made the frame more flexible to remove the glass. In the process of putting it back together.....
All the windows are in
