I have a 2018 GMC Canyon and installed the new hitch system to the bed. No one offers a frame mounted hitch for mid size trucks. Looked at bolting to frame but there was too much stuff in the way....

I Jack on axle, but close to frame attachment. Jack stands placed as close to wheel as possible. Never have experienced axle/wheel alignment issues. Scamp 19.

When I pulled a Scamp 19 with a 91 S10 which was rated for 3500# I added Airlift bags to rear axle. Solved problem and with the onboard compressor speeded up loading and unloading trailer from truck.

I put a 19’ Scamp in back corner of 50x30 building using come alongs and dollies under wheels and landing gear. Takes a little time but works great.

Just know that the rivets are aluminum and won’t rust. These stainless steel screws are no doubt Chinese and will rust. They are not the rust proof variety.
