Power loss = I^2 x R (current squared times resistance). This is from power = V x I and ohms law V = I x R.

Add weight to bed of pickup

If you have load capacity, add sand bags or other weight to bed of pickup to temporarily lower it for the trip.

It's a different vehicle, but I towed a 16' L4 scamp 8000 miles to Alaska and back with 2 adults, bicycles and gear with a 2004 Odyssey. No problems but..

I would include bringing or buying some chlorine bleach suitable for sanitizing the water system before first use or just use some water jugs for drinking and cooking until it can be done at home.

Scamp did not include a breakaway switch for the electric brakes on my 2014 16' bought new from scamp. It appears it is not required in Minnesota. It is required in Washington state so I added one....

Trailer comes with electric brakes but does not come with a safety break-away switch. Apparently Minnesota doesn't require this switch but Washington State does.
