I have used my awning and find that it is invaluable for shade and also for rain protection. I usually only extend it about 3 ft and use the body supports and that is all that is needed to shelter...

Not sure how Scamp works it but if you call Casita, they will hook you up with someone local to you to show you their unit. So try that by calling Scamp they may have a similar program . Good luck...
