New Tow Vehicle for the Scamp 16!

Hi all,

After towing with my poor Cadillac ATS, I have finally acquired a more appropriate tow vehicle!


I'm sure the 7,500lbs max tow rating will make all the difference.

You may not have noticed, but Scotty seems to have a huge hatred for anything domestic-made. He has never gleaned any praise, or even acceptance for a Ford, GM, or Chrysler made vehicle.

Any reason why you wouldn't consider a Chevrolet Blazer? Many more were sold than Trackers, and the 4.3L v6 has been widely praised as being reliable.

The Ford Escape is probably a better tow vehicle and overall vehicle compared to the Niro. The Niro has about 139hp versus as much as 221 for the Escape.

Looking on Scamp's website, the black metal piece is to help tight fitting doors close.

My 2014 Scamp did NOT have a tight fitting door, and I removed that piece, creating a much better door...

Looking for a travel trailer at least 16' but not longer than 17. Should be a bunk layout, or have two mattresses that will sleep FOUR Will consider Scamp, Casita, Escape, Bigfoot, and Prolite Cannot...
