Guess the way around it is to find the campgrounds that fits your wants.
As said I can go to the National Forests and have quiet most of the time or got to others that allow generators all the time...

Most, not all, National Forest campgrounds here...
Most, not all, National Forest campgrounds here in Maine and New Hampshire only allow gens to run from 8AM till 10AM...for breakfast cooking and to top off batteries then again from 5PM to 8PM...for...
