The "puck" towing system has two holes in the Trucks bed for that, see the place plugs in the trucks bed...

Ford "puck" towing system is pops right out when you don't need it so your truck box is clean
Machined my own 2 5/16" hitch, its overkill but weight is not an issue for this truck.

cut off the Scamp hitch and building a "Universal mount" so you can put the old hitch back on? Or easily build a hitch for whatever kind of tow you want...

Building a gooseneck or bumper hitch for my 19 right now many beers spent "Thrinking" about which way to go ...
One easy way I may get three inches is to weld on an extension right off the 12"...
