New cargo doors for my Burro 17wb

Just finished the first of 3 cargo door installs on my 1998 Burro 17wb. I purchased them off ebay for about $40 each a while back and finally cutting holes! Sizes 2 rear door 30” x 8” and left front is 14” x 11”. Made a template, taped the perimeter to prevent any scratches and started cutting. After the opening was made, used 2” x 2” wood to make an inside frame to screw the door frame to. Countersunk holes so as to keep the mounting surface flat, also used some construction adhesive. After test fitting door I used tape around perimeter and on door frame to help lessen any mess from oozing sealant. Mounted, clamped well and used a 90 degree drill attachment to drill and sink stainless steel screws. Cleaned up tape and a little extra sealant and it looks like it was always there. Now 2 more....

Thanks. Left front 14x11 is done and the left rear is cut out and ready for for the 30 x 8 door. I purchased all of them from bottomdollarsurplus on ebay. I’ll post a couple more pics when done, same process as the first one. Wish I could use a taller door at the rear but the Burro has a style line molded in that precludes going higher and starts to curve under any lower

Henry if you need one I have a new 28 x 10 door I couldn’t use. I’m also in Houston near Jersey Village. I think I only paid $30 or $40 for it

Fantastic pictures. Did you also use any adhesive to attach the inside frame?

Sorry for the late response. I did use use regular construction adhesive when I screwed in the frames and afterwards did a final caulking. No leaks and worked great during my June trip to California for LDRS 37
