I'm going to interpret your question as "Do you cut the sheets..."
My jalousie windows have a fair amount of aluminum frame that sticks inside my trailer. I cut the sheets to fit the inside and fit tightly in the frame.
YMMV.

Thanks for finding those Thomas. They were the original pictures for my boler American. My restoration is here:

Thomas, thanks for posting. Oftentimes some of the most prolific posters (with great ideas) disappear after a time. Your "Skimp" trailer is one of the best of the best!

Love bug 73

How did you fill the revit holes. Was there much fiberglassing you had todo. If so how. We are in the same situation now that you were in.

I really love the PC-11 marine 2 part epoxy paste for filling holes.
It turns white when dry too. Sandable even. Highly recommend.

Thomas, glad you couldn't get a "spanking new trailer" because you're creativity is wonderful! On the Skimp I really like the exterior paint and the faucet window opener. Did you have to make any modification to install the faucets in place of the crank handles?

Thank you Steve!

Although I still have The Skimp, I did just get a 14' wide body Burro and will do a much more professional job. I have more knowledge and more tools now.
With all the projects I've done in the meantime, my shop has really improved. And I have this saying:
"There's a tool for every job..... and a tool FROM every job"
I call it a good excuse to buy a tool to do something particular when I don't have it.

Looking forward to seeing all the posts from your Burro. When do you plan to start?

That is a very good question Steve. I don't have a plan yet. I still have to give it a good evaluation to see what it really needs. The only thing I know at this moment is that the roof vent is cracked and needs replacing. I like the people at Fantastic Vent so I'll go with that brand. It's pretty usable as it is so maybe the summer will hold some dry runs to see what I'd like to do.

The only other thing for sure is that I'd like to get a good awning. I've seen these ones with bent arms, I've spent some time trying to find something like it on the interwebs with no success. I don't even know what to call those bent arms.... Do you?

Thomas,

This is a great thread; you brought a poor orphaned trailer back to life exhibiting a wonderful imagination and exhibiting a fine sensibility as you took your own path here.

That's admittedly just one man's opinion, but it really means something to me to see the work that you have done.

I'm selfishly glad that you didn't have a "spanking new" trailer. I can't imagine one ever having so much joy in it.
