Upgrading suspension on 74 Trillium

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on upgrading the suspension on a 74 trillium. We'd like to put something a bit more robust on it for the east coast canada roads and the fact we like to go down logging roads as well.

upgrading the axel

Hi Chris here at Outback, we have over the years installed a few 3500 original style axels for a more HD use, our standard Trillium axel we use are a 2200 lbs flexi ride axel thats fully adjustable for more ground clearance and opens the wheel wells for a larger tire as well. One important thing , make sure your frame is in good shape to take some of the off road abuse.

Trillium

Joe is right more than 2200 is not good .to stiff makes the trailer bounce thus shaken baby syndrome for lack of a better term..best bet is spring blocks on leef springs or lift blocks for beter ground clerance.

suspension

I agree, but our Trillium axels are all torsion mounted axels, not a leaf spring suspension.
