If Hixon doesn’t take that fridge off your hands I would take it as a spare or to cleanup/repair for someone else to use. It’s getting hard to find the 3way absorption fridges now.

So many are scrapped when all they need is minor repair. There is so little to wrong with these it’s a shame people don’t realize this.

Ann and Murray, that is an old school Ice Box. You put a block of ice on a shelf at the top to keep things cold. The Opaque tube in the picture is the meltwater drain tube that sticks out of a hole in the floor. I used to have one just like it in my 79 Boler.

My mistake. You see so many people say they are replacing the old absorption units when all they usually need is a minor repair or cleaning. If they work at all they will work again when repaired, there really is nothing to wear out.

Having always used our trailer in remote locations and before solar was popular we relied heavily on the gravity furnace and propane fridge for our battery to last a week or more.
