Ok gonna change plans.. here is an another clue. You should make no assumption changes regarding the pictures.

And this morning's clue:

Bill Gates is someone who might make the different assumption and then report 209 as the correct answer.

3x=90
2y + 2y + y =25
,3z = 18
Y + X x z = Ans

X = 30
Y = 5
Z = 6

Ans = 210

Take a close look at the X in the bottom image.

Does it have all the Y and Z components?

As well, the math is wrong. The added before multiplying which is backwards.

I did agree with the answer of math spelled out gordon, something that was confirmed by you, I still feel one last post for all to read explaining the math is for some reason still necessary.

X = trailer (fully accessorized)= 90/3 = 30
W = wheel = 25/5 = 5
Z = door window = 18/3 = 6

The calculation given
W + X (missing some accessories) x Z

or
5 + ((30 - 10*two wheels - 6*window) x 6)
5 + (14 x 6)
5 + 84

Final answer
89

I am actually appreciating that those late to the game are wrestling it through for themselves rather than peek at the revelation of the correct answer in previous posts.

When I was a math teacher, I sometimes taught the same class multiple times. Late in the day I found myself tempted to get impatient, forgetting that the problem was brand new to the students in the room.

A good math puzzle never dies. Let's not spoil the fun!

Here's a pretty good explanation of the rationale for the algebraic order of operations, which requires multiplication before addition in the last equation.

...
Yes, my method was different but still got to the correct result. I thought I was being helpful by detailing the process (showing my work) but since the numerous confirmations of 89 being the accepted and correct answer have been ignored, I am sure my detailed post was ignored as well. Now to see if your final explanation is also remains unread.

There is so much information in this forum - you can find the answer to about any on topic question, and many off topic ones as well. You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make him drink.. and when he dies of thirst, you can beat him repeatedly.

Working on it before peeking is good but eventually one should want to see if their answer was confirmed already. I consider my explanation to be like you teaching math after your students have tried to work the problem. Except of course that my method is probably not the best approach and my students skipped class

I for one worked on it before reading any replies.. but I was sure to read the replies before posting, both to see if anyone else came to the same answer, and to see if I was being repetitive. I had three or four drafts before posting the work flow I used. And I have no problem admitting that there were two clues given in the posts that I needed to solve it.. before that I had all wrong answers.

I don't know if people don't bother to read the repeated and clear explanation of how to solve the quiz, can't accept the order of math operations, or won't look carefully at the picture.

With all of the explanations given, is it better to blurt out the wrong answer, or try to discover how to get the right answer? Or even better, to suggest the right answer is wrong?

That's why this is fun. It reveals strategies, which include an insistence on lack of strategies.

That's why I always say people need to inflate their tires to the maximum cold inflation pressure, that they should twist their chains to shorten them and that it's just fine to run with a full tank of water with their refrigerator running on propane.

:-)

I see what you mean.

Let me try again. It has half as many tires.

3x=90
2y + 2y + y =25
,3z = 18
Y + 1/2X x z = Ans

X = 30
Y = 5
Z = 6

Ans = 5 + 15 x 6 = 95

Note. Multiplication before addition.oops. Yes. I had fun trying to solve this without looking at other people's answers. Because that is more fun for me. Lol.

Why half of X just because it's missing two tires?

Now look REALLY CLOSELY at the camper in the last row and see if there are any differences between that and the top row campers.

I noted that earlier and applied a value of 0 to that bottom trailer. Came up with 5 X 6 = 30.
And that's -30- for me.

I saw that the window was missing as well. But the common theme in all 3 equations is its about the tires. So I only took that into account.

I just thought of another way

5x + 5x + 5x =90
2y + 2y + y =25
,3z = 18
Y + 3X x z = Ans

X = 6
Y = 5
Z = 6

Ans = 5 + 18 x 6 = 113

If it's just about the number of tires

How is the "Z" equation about tires?

To me it looks like tires on my phone. But I guess it could be windows. That would explain what you are talking about.
