Who wants to build Scamps??

Was looking around on Facebook when I noted this ad:

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...2-8fbf2f298fbb

Apparently some one in Winston Salem, NC has molds to make a Scamp or Boler clone! Says it is a 12' mold. Apparently they have produced a few, tho I have not seen one myself. Mostly Casitas and Scamps around here. I'm only a few miles from Winston, tempted to go look.

Looks like a set of Parkliner molds, which were made in that area. 12’ would be about right for a 15’ (total length) Parkliner. Hope they find a good home.

I heard a rumor that Trillium bought the Parkliner molds. Maybe that fell through...

I was at Trillium / Outback recently. I saw the Parkliner molds there.

Aren’t there two sets of Parkliner molds? After Parkliner became part of Liberty Outdoors, there was a major redesign. Pretty sure the flat door on the redesign would have required new upper and lower outer molds, and the change to a double hull meant all-new interior molds.

So who has which? I’d personally rather see a return to the simpler single hull set-up, but the door was troublesome.

This is what it says in the ad.
"We have all the molds for both the interior and exterior components to make a complete camper."

Yes, I saw that, but which version I wonder? There were two, and from what I know of both versions, they used different exterior and interior molds.

I wonder what startup costs would be? I’d consider going in on a group venture…

While there has been a shortage of RVs for the last 18 months, I would expect a glut in the next 18 months when new comers find out that "CAMPING" is not what they thought. All the trash at the free sites has changed things.

From the history of FGRV start ups getting into the business is a great way to make a small fortune... from a large one.
A lot like aviation.

Interior molds could be for cabinets, wetbath, etc not necessarily an interior hull. I'd like to have the molds myself.

I'm pretty sure that's the original. It has the in house made hinges on the trailer shown and there's wall covering on part of the walls. The newer version was double hulled. There was a thread showing the development of the inside molds.

You're right. I wasn't able to see all the pictures before. The pictures of finished trailers are all stock photos from the old company, but looking at the molds themselves, they appear to have the door contours of the original version.

To me, they look like the ParkLiner molds.

Well, somebody purchased those molds.

Me I would want a slightly longer mold. I think a 20 footer would be real cool.
