She hasn't replied yet, but I expect she will notice. I really don't care for either egg shaped nor square houses as you can tell. Harold

Based on your photo Harold, it looks like oven knobs and an oven door are below the counter with the basket. It appears that the Quantums may have an oven but no stove top - unless the burners are camouflaged by the counter top.
|
I guess I was thrown by the Quantum for sale in California. It doesn't have a stove. The dealer says it weighs 2500 pounds and is 7ft 6in high by 8ft wide. Axle weight 2000 (1000 each axle) and hitch weight 500 pounds. Has bath with shower, sink and potti, furnace, no AC and no stove.
Glad you get to experience the deluxe package. An oven and 3 burners - wow!.

Aesthetic attractions differ from person to person. Actually, your 5th wheel looks to me like an ovoid that had the lower front quadrant removed.

The trailer does have a 3 burner stove with oven according to the previous owner's wife. She says it worked real well. The Quantum in California must not be the same type as this one is 17 feet long, weighs about 1700 pounds, and I suppose from the axle location, I can't see the hitch weight being over 300 pounds. Don't forget the A/C either in the deluxe package.

The dealer in California impressed me as the kind of salesman that you need to follow behind with your own tape measure and scales.
Meaning: I got the impression that if he didn't know the answer to a question, he would make something up that he thought was a reasonable response. Buyer's Beware!
Harold, if your weights are accurate, I suspect the California Quantum weighs in at about 1,500 pounds on dual axles. The hitch/tongue weight, depending on distribution, is anybody's guess. 500 pounds - no way, Dude.

Square trailer and round house!
:cblob
Glad you got your house photo posted, Harold! (Is it a Del-Tec?)
Pete's comment about Suz noticing the deck ''on the back of the Quantum'' is, I think, a veiled reference to an earlier thread with a picture of the chimney ''on'' his Burro. Right, Pete? :laugh

I thought he was referring to the deck on the house. It started out as a Topsider plan, but was changed to suit me. My first project afte retirement. Harold

Quantum 5
We happen to own one of these that we are restoring. Harold, you are very lucky to have found such a nice QUANTUM. When we bought ours we found the orig. sales brocure with specs. on this trailer and thought we would share. The dry # is 2750, gvwr is 4000, the hitch # is 390, the pin height is only 38" so if you plan on pulling with anything taller than a standard mini truck you will have to flip the axels to the bottom of the springs. These were made in Santa Ana Calif. by Columbia Coachworks. By the way folks there is a 3 burner under the fold up counter and an oven under. Have fun with your new "pulltoy".

5th wheel hitch
Hi Harold. Great looking 5th wheel..only 1700lbs, my scamp weighs 3200, You will not regret buying a 5th wheel, no weight distribution hitches, or any of the other type hitches, just hook up and go. I have had mine at 70mph with no problems.plus you have an extra axle. I know you will enjoy it. Paul Smith Orlando Fl.

The stove top look just like the one in my 17' Boler. It has a fold
down cover over the burners and the knobs look the same.

Quantum 5 fifth wheel trailer
Picked up the trailer on July 10th. Spent 2 nights in the Cherry Hill campground in Laurel MD. Toured DC with the grandson, went to the southern tip of VA where I was in the service. across the Chesepeake bridges and tunnels, up the Eastern shore of VA, (between Chesepeake and the Atlantic for those not familiar), 2 nights with the son in Philly, 2 hours west of Philly the next morning, alerted to new assignment in Clovis NM, left yesterday and am now in Quartzsite AZ overnight with water pump out on the truck (50 mile tow in(wish they would figure out an early warning failure device for these types of troubles as everything under the hood looked ok when I checked in GlobeAZ earlier) and will pull out again in the morning for Quartz Hill CA at the other son's. Trailer pulls wonderfully (don't even know it's behind the Ranger until you are on new blacktop uphill against the wind (coming up out of the Salt River canyon in AZ) seems to need a little repair, (soft floor, broken plastic latches, etc, typical for an 81, AC works beautifully). Still a very good buy as far as I am concerned. Picture posted in Port Charles VA on way back up peninsula. Harold

Repost of the photo at Port Charles. Also, trailer data plate says manufactured by Contempo Coaches Inc, no address. Harold
