1977 Trillium 1300 Key

Hello all,
I have a '77 Trillium. I have a key but want to get a copy. It has one side that is flat and the other has the grove in it. That seems to be a difficult blank to find as I haven't been able to get a copy made at the local hardware store. I guess I should try a locksmith first but wondered if anyone knew where to get a blank key for that online so they can cut it for me here.

Thanks

Just go to a respected locksmith that has a store front. He or she will more than likely have it in stock and cut you a correct key. As a retired locksmith of over 30 years we had thousands of key blanks and always kept up with the latest and oldest blanks available. Hardware store have a very limited supply of blanks usually found on their carousel board.

Home depot worked for us until they went to a fancy new key cutting machine. Now we we go to a locksmith. (Livonia lock and key)

Key cutting machines (whether simple or complex) are only as good as the person who knows how to properly clean and adjust them as needed, aka the locksmith.

I couldn’t find one at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Went to an Ace Hardware, no problem.

Hi,
Funny ….We decided we should make copies of our 1 and only Trillium key.
HD,Lowes Ace, didn't have the (Y4) blank. BTW .. Y4 key blank is an older key blank for the 400 series door lock on our 1980 1300 T
Phone and I found locksmith near that made 2( y4 keys) for 7$ Great deal!
Until I tried them ….. Key" stuck" halfway in lock! Not good..
Vise grip 1.... Key 0...
Problem solved..( Blanks were correct just ,very sharp tip and edges) Using wire wheel and small file to knock down all jagged edges , both keys worked successfully! Yea!
Hope you find them.
JR

I have some keys which came from my 1977 Trillium 1300.
They have shallow cuts and they are Bargman keys, they worked the stock locks.
You are welcome to them if you want them.

PM me and we can compare pictures of them by text.
If they appear to be what you need I will mail them to you.

Hi Floyd! If you happen to still have these keys, we’d love to buy them off of you! We have been looking for some stock keys like these! Thanks!

1977 Trillium 1300 Key

It was a few years back, but I searched the key number on EBay and they were available. Mine are Cole BN7, but look slightly different from yours.Click image for larger version

Those Cole and Bargman keys are not the same, and are not interchangeable.
Besides Cole is an old key blank co. no longer available. The Brgman blanks were most likely the original keys.

An old established locksmith company might still have some Cole blanks on hand, but more than likely they would have the Bargman blanks.

Try RV places, an older established one would have old blanks, possibly even old pre-cut keys.
or take the trailer to a locksmith and have him change the cylinder and give you new keys and cylinder
