21' BURRO Travel Trailer

Didn't recall until today, when I pulled out old (1999) printed material from Burro, that there was a 21' Burro. I've never heard of anyone who owns one of these. Have you? There are actually a couple of photos, including one on a transport trailer, so apparently they must have had some production of these. Fact sheet says: ''Limited Edition Exta-WideBody Burro 21-foot Trailer. Overall Length 21'6'', Overall height 8'8'', Overall width 8', Int. Height 6'4'', Dry Wt. (base model) 3500 lb., Hitch Weight 400 lb., axle weight rating 2 x 3500 lb., tires 14''. Sale price for the first 20 orders only!--$8,495 (base unit) or in kit form $6.995.'' Incomplete information as to what was included in the price. B.t.w., this was not a fifth wheel unit, but a dual axle unit.

Has anyone ever seen one of these? How about you Ray, as finder of the obscure, have you ever seen or heard of one? Not that I want one, but it would be nice to have an owner of one participate in this Board.

One caveat, this was about the time that Burro ownership was starting to have troubles, so the one pictured on the truck could be a prototype that never became a reality.

It could have been a "prototype". As far as I know, and from all photos I have seen over the past three plus years looking at various fiberglass trailers...I have not seen one. But that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Use my 1985 U-Haul 16 Foot Vacationer Trailer as an example. I thought it was also a "myth". But today, I went for an afternoon drive to get away, and to unwind after a hectic month of doing the "Doggie Conversion". I went to inspect and check out a 1985 17 Foot Wide Body 7'6" Burro. First of the wide body Burro's?
The 1985 16 Foot U-Haul Vacationer Trailer is the same width as the 1984 U-Haul 13 Foot Camper Trailer. When I saw this Burro, I was so stunned by the spaciousness. Remember this is a 1985 Burro, and pre 1986 before the big move to California, and the downturn in Burro's production standards and demise of the company as a whole.
