Hey there, i know this isn't a rare thread
title. I've read all the
burro floor threads, and am sitting on a new-to-me 1980
Burro with some concerns.. I should have looked a little closer when I bought it, and I think there's some hidden damage.
1. there are a couple places that feel a little flimsy, either from above or below or both... they're marked with highlighter. It doesn't feel like I could push through with my bare hand... just that the very thin Fglass and the wood are separated and 'flimsy'.. I also noticed after the last rain a little bit of water made its way inside on those corners. I haven't pulled up the walking-area linoleum.. my hope is that the damage is confined to the corners.
2. someone already did some floor work, as one section (marked with the slash lines) is a newer sheet of wood, visible from underneath..
so my question is: how emergent is this situation? FYI, we don't go anywhere with it.. it's my wife's backyard office. It's up on stands and she sits back there, sometimes a few friends sit or sleep back there. Is there a quick assessment method? Is there a way to make sure it's safe for now? I can obviously remove just the offending
windows and seal in between the hull walls to keep it from leaking more, but is there anything I have to worry about right now? Can I wait a few years to do a floor replacement / frame-off / etc.?
Basically, what would you do?
THANKS.
