This is the beginning of my rebuild of 1976 Ventura.
More to follow.

Murray, it is good to see that you are making progress with your Ventura. I hope you keep posting so we can follow your progress. Just curious if you are working in a garage. Even in BC it must be a bit cool and wet to be working outside.I envy your ability to work at this time of year.

Looking good! I wish I was starting with a roof that looked like that!

I have it parked right outside my shop. Step from the trailer into the shop.
I have it all tarped in. There are a few holes on the shell that I will fiberglass and Gel coat when it warms up. I keep a heater in the shop and one in the trailer.
Not the greatest set up but it lets me keep working.
Good luck with yours.
Go and Enjoy

The roof was sagged a little from snow loads.
I cut 3 strips of wood, laminated in an arch and glued to roof inside.
This helped out quite a bit.
I took the trailer to a kayak builder for his opinion.
He said, don't be to concerned about the gel coat cracks. Give it a good clean, buff with a heavy cleaner, put 2 coats of turtle wax on. Won't be new but you will be amazed at how it will look. Good luck with yours.
Go and Enjoy

The ribs in my roof were totally rotten and the roof was more of a bowl. I’ve removed all the remnants of the ribs and will be installing my newly laminated ribs. Sounds like we have a similar strategy. I’m going to be painting the entire exterior once spring roles around.

That was my setup too (minus the garage heat) until it reached about 5 degrees with a strong wind at which point I admitted defeat.
I have to admit that I do not mind a break and time for reading by the fire.
