Old thread but.....
Every time we go to dump it seems we have to wait so people can rinse out their 10-20' hoses. Sometimes it's quite a sight! We've done that hundreds of times ourselves.
When we purchased our
Escape it came with a cheap 15' blue hose and those are actually harder to rinse without getting a bath yourself. On about day seven after picking up our camper in Sumas, WA we went to a small camper store to purchase a 10' Rhino or equivalent. All they had was a 5' or a 20', so we purchased a 5'. I'd already read a post about what I'm saying here, so I thought, "Why not!" We already had a clear 45 degree elbow, one foot clear extension, and a clear 90 degree to the sewer pipe that adds about 2 feet. Three years later, after easily 50 dump sites we've never needed longer.
We do have a 15' Rhino for full hookups. However, I realize at some point in time we'll find a sewer dump where we'll need this 15', but haven't even come close.
With a 5' you don't have to "S" your hose in the small dump area and it's unreal how easy it is to clean, plus it's only 2' long when stored. Both the 15' and 5' Rhinos easily fit in our sewer hose tube.
We now silently laugh when we see people wrestle with their long hoses, or get a small fecal shower, at the dump site.
Buy a 5' folks. You'll wish you had one years ago.
Enjoy,
Perry
